From a local Indiana Estate is this vintage Shapleigh Hardware Company Diamond Edge carpenter claw hammer.
The hammer head displays a very strong Shapleigh Hardware logo. (See photo)
Shapleigh Hardware was located in St. Louis, Missouri.
The eight sided hardwood handle is from the Van Camp Hardware Company of Indianapolis Indiana.
Overall length of the hammer is about 14 inches as measured along the hardwood handle.
The handle is firmly affixed to the hammer head... and I rubbed a little linseed oil into the handle.
The hammer will do the "balancing act" by standing on its claws. (See photo)
