Vtg Machinists 7 - Drawer Solid Oak Wooden Wood Chest Tool Box W/ Key Scherr?

Beautiful antique solid oak machinists chest. There are no markings, but my best guess based on my research is that this is a George Scherr chest (no guarantees though since I’m not sure). Very solidly built and in great condition for its age!
All appears to be original with super patina on the wood. Corners, lock, hinges, and knobs are solid and functional. Lower lock has working key (sorry, no key for top lock). All drawers open and close properly and smoothly, and top closes, l...atches, and hinges properly. Felt has wear throughout and a few small holes. Handle at the top has significant wear on the leather (as can be seen in the photos), but the handle is structurally solid and will hold the box and can be used for carrying. Overall this is an extremely well built, heavy, and solid chest. If you want a gorgeous wood chest that has character and history for display or use, this is it!
