This auction is for a Vintage Prewar Lionel O Gauge No.763E Hudson Steam Engine and No.2226WX 12 Wheel Whistle Tender With The Original Engine Box.It was made in 1941.This engine was repainted and varnished and decals added back in the 1940's by the original owner who also converted the trucks on the tender to scale trucks.{It was found with the scale passenger set I have listed on E-bay at this time.} the tender has an original Lionel scale coupler. The castings are solid and str...aight.There are also 2 extra holes in the base of the tender for an outside rail pick up.It is complete and original except for the paint, tender trucks and the draw-bar pin that has been replaced with a pin that is not original.It has been tested and it runs and tracks well and the E-unit works and the headlight works and it has a whistle in the tender that works great.When testing I ran it for 5 minutes straight and it didn't loose power but the brushes did heat up so it is not an engine you can run for a long period of time.It is all die-cast metal and the engine and tender together measures over 23" long.It comes with the original engine box that is fairly clean and solid.The box is missing the flaps from one end.
