Type 98 Shin Gunto, signed "Noshu Seki Ju Katsumasa Saku". This blade has some history to go along with it, it was captured on the third day of the battle of Iwo Jima. I was able to speak to the 94 year old Navy veteran personally that brought it back from the war.
This sword has a very attractive temper line, and has been well cared for. The blade is nice and straight, with no edge damage. Blade is in very good condition with only slight surface blemishes in... some small areas, appears to be in the original polish. The tsuka has been replaced with a period correct original piece in great condition, which is currently installed on the blade, and the original tsuka is also included.
