Vintage WW2 US Gov't Issue Airborne M-1942 PARATROOPER JUMP JACKET 2d pattern (w/ WW2 Enlisted WOOL SHIRT)
get it in time for D-DAY 75th ANNIVERSARY! 101st & 82nd AIRBORNE!thanks to JOHN K. it very well might belong to paratrooper LOUIS PEPPITOCO. A, 517th PIR....attaching roster
NOTE: Missing the center zipper line...which is replaceable.From my personal collection of many years....it was mannequin mounted (see images), the
fieldgear stripped off and sold on eb...ay last year.
NOTE: please refer to the FLAT-BED scan for true color depiction....as digital cameraflash tends to distort cloth color.

I just posted an image of the machine sewing from behind.....DOES NOT GLOW under the BLACKLIGHT.-jump jacket is 100% legit....guaranteed for Life.i only had two...sold the other one last year, larger sized but with cloth discolored shoulders...HAD the zipper BUT was MISSING the belt! go figure!

-upper pockets have opening slot for pencil/pen....with internal separate pencil slot pocket
-boxed sewn shoulder epaulettes w/ metal snap button-ALL metal snap button rivets are UNITED CARR marked
-2-position metal button snaps on the cuff closures-ALL metal snap button domed heads are burnished!
-pleated bi-swing shoulders
-centerline back pleated bellow expansion....with triangle reinforcement points
-gusset split tail that opens expands-cloth belt loops....has LOOP ATTACHED sewn-on cloth belt
-4 corded ventilation grommet eyelets under each armpit-triangular sewn reinforcement points ....see image-standard fold collar ....multiple sewn stitch line collar attach
-broken hanger loop sewn in the nape neck area-2 position throat neck closure buttons-metal button bottom rivet marked UNITED CARR mfg
-working TALON left & right side zipper throat pocket for the M2 switch

WW2 Wool shirt:-shirt was put together for my display....so might as well haveit go together.-all original pumpkin buttons-stamped size: 15 1/2 neck, 33 sleeveCOND: 2-3 tiny micro moth pinholes, missing QM contract labelotherwise GOOD TO DECENT
CONDITION:-came with white cloth NAME TAPE....stenciled name....cannot research....
-there are NO stitch outlines or SSI shoulder patch ghosting fading...appears never to have been 'badged-up'.....or chevron ranked
-broken neck hanger loop
-khaki tan cotton duck cloth is UNFADED colors are still rich...NOT
laundered out. soft pliable NOT PRONE TO TEARING!!!
-NO FRAYING to the cuff edges NO FRAYING to the collar fold-NO WORN elbows! cloth is still pretty thick and not threadbare
-some sporadic rust spotting here and there....tiny and small
-COTTON CLOTH is NOT age prone or weakened to tearing...-NO RIPS, NO REPAIRS, NO TEARS-stitch lines are intact....none are loose!
-all Metal SNAP BUTTONS are working and functioning....NONE ARE PULLED OUTYOU HANDLE WITH CARE!!!! shipped all UN-BUTTONED.
