Look at this stunning historic Navajo transitional. I think this may categorize as an "Early Germantown Eye Dazzler" but I am not expert.The sawtoothed diamonds on the red field are stunning. Note the rare irregular triangles lining the sides. It is 32 x 46"This old weaving has very tight weave and the patterns are more crisp than on most contemporary work. It is badly in need of a loving collector to invest in it a bit and let a restoration artisan reweave some damage and cleanse out ...the dinge of a century or more. This is a very deserving piece that will wow you when it returns to it's former glory. It is sure to keep a good value as well.PLEASE examine carefully with zoom it has all the problems an old piece that rode the trails would acquire, ....holes, specks and spots, frays and scuffs. Both sides are shown and one side reads a little cleaner.This rug will not likely please without restoration but I believe it will surely be a treasured heirloom afterward.
