This is a Vintage Russian Lacquer Art Tray with Snow Scene of People on a Horse Drawn Cart. This is an absolutely stunning and eye catching piece. It is a black lacquer tray that has been hand-painted on the front. The scene is of a snowy day with people being pulled along by a Horse drawn cart. The image has acquired a stunning patina through time and a beautiful craquelure. When you look very clo...sely at the tray, you can see areas that the image has been repaired, though it has been done so well, that it is almost unnoticeable. The edge of the tray is raised and is black, which beautifully frames the image. The back of the tray has a black gloss finish. The piece has been stamped. This would make a fantastic decorative piece in the home.
