The pantograph insulators appear to have been replaced and are not original. When tested the e-unit sticks when switching directions. Introduced in 1947, this was the first of Lionel‘s GG-1s. It features a powerful motor, reverse unit, light, die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. This engine is in great shape with all the original rubber stamped lettering and stripes still visible!
