This listing is for a circa 1890s gilt bronze patina and Sevres porcelain covered urn. The urn measures 10 inches or 25.4 cm high to the finial on the cover and is 5 inches or 12.7 cm at its widest. The urn features a gilt bronze base with a porcelain stem glazed in light blue and heavy applied gold. The body of the urn is hand painted with a cherubic figure flying and holding a garland of roses in a fancy cartouche. The back of the urn has a lyre and musical pages set up with flowers.... The top rim and cover are also glazed with a light celestial blue glaze and accented with heavy applied gold highlights. The urn has scrolling handles on the sides and a pine cone finial on the cover. All the bronze work has its original gilt gold patina or color. The interior of the cover is signed with the Sevres mark in blue along with "FRANCE". The urn is signed on the lower right by the artist "E. DABON".The condition is as follows; there is a chip and crack in the cover and some darkening to gilt bronze mounts. Please see the many photographs as they are an important part of the description.
