Miniature ceramic crock jug - the top is brown and the bottom part is a stone cream color with blue writing that reads "WRITE MERRILL, GREER CHAPMAN CO. CROCKERY ST. PAUL". The crock is a 1/8 pint Red Wing mini advertising jug. It measures 2 1/2" tall, and is 2 1/4" across. This St Paul company began their operation in 1914.
Please be sure to look at all the picture...s to see how nice this jug is. The spot in the glazing that is lighter in the 5th picture in the brown portion is not a chip - it is just a lighter spot and is under the glazing. Every indent and wrinkle is a part of the making of the crock and adds to the character. There is a spot on the right side by the spout that appears to be a tool mark and is under the glaze. The wing on the back is recognizable and clearly identified as Red Wing.
