Rare Teco Arts & Crafts tile or trivet. The tile features a Chinese inspired design impressed at each corner. Finished in the desirable Teco matte green glaze, traces of charcoaling and gold highlights the recesses of the corner decorations. The sides of the tile are also glazed which is typical of tiles meant for use as a decorative table top trivet instead of being installed on a floor or wall surface. Impressed on the bottom with the Teco mark. The tile measures 6" square, 3/4" ...thick. In very good condition, a few edge chips as well as a few glazed edge & corner chips. Top surface with glaze pops, white spots, tiny scratch, rectangular area with glaze loss/flaw. Circa early 1900s. Questions welcome. Thanks for your interest.
