this is for the Imperial Japanese Army Samurai sword you see in the pics. This is WWII era. Sword and scabbard are matching numbers. Has the original sword belt and possibly late war. Sword has stamps where the handle meets the guard. someone told me that one of the marks identifies the maker as 1st Tokyo Arsenal. Attached to the sword is an original wood surrender tag with what is believed to be the name of Awayama Shosaku. This also comes with an original meatball flag and is made of... silk. Very clean flag for its age and see no holes or rips. I bought this sword years ago just like this except for i have added a reproduction leather sword knot that also comes with it. Scabbard has nicks here an there but see no real dings or dents. Looks to have all original finish on both sword and scabbard. blade is nice, shinny, and somewhat sharp. I have had this in my collection for many years and time to let go. This will ship in large box.On Jun-03-19 at 10:22:18 PDT, seller added the following information:as far as i can tell the blade has not been modified. it is not heavily sharpened. when i run my hand down the cutting edge it feels mostly dull but only slightly sharp need the middle. there is no visible damage or pitting to the blade. but you can feel some very tiny dings in the cutting edge when carefully running hand along the blade, small enough that you would likely need a magnefine glass to see.On Jun-03-19 at 13:40:41 PDT, seller added the following information:yes. i will ship international on this one if needed. buyer will pay actual cost for type of international desired.
