A sterling silver round presentation medal with the low relief image of an orchid blossom at the center, "South Florida Orchid Society" around the perimeter, and "Award" at the bottom center above an un-engraved cartouche. The medal weighs .9 troy ounce and is 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. It is marked "Medallic Art Co" on the bottom edge below the open cartouche but is not marked for quality except by the tag "Sterling Silver" mounted in the accomp...anying, original, presentation box. There several very small nicks to the back face edge of the medal (see photos) and there is a very light toning of grey tarnish overall, otherwise in good condition. The box has notable chaffing to the corners and faces of the base, and all the corners of the lid are torn or partly broken.
