Vintage Wood Jewelry Machinist Tool Box 4 drawers Lock Dove tailed 12x9.5x8.5 Vintage Wood Jewelry Machinist Tool Box 4 drawers Lock Dove tailed 12x9.5x8.5 ... Click images to enlarge Description This listing is for a vintage, wooden, 4 drawer box with lift top lid. The latest use of this box was as a jewelry box but I think this originally was a tool box for a machinist or small tools of a jeweler or dentist.
This box has a lid that lifts revealing a larger compartment. 4 narrow draws with original brass pulls in the center of the drawer make up the remaining compartments in this box. There is a lock but no key.
Drawers lock when brass lever in back of the top compartment is push down and lock is released when level is pulled up. The drawers have dovetail joints.
Currently the compartments are lined with green felt that will need to be replaced. This felt was not original to the box. Draws open easily and hardware functions well. Box measures 12" x 9.5" x 8.5" and weighs 6.5 lbs. Box has age appropriate dings and scratches from use and wear. The wood has split at the back corner of the box and repair attempted years ago. See pics. This is not visible from the front of the box and does not impair functionality. Currently box has aroma of previous owner's fragrance.
