For sale here is a US WW2 M1 Combat Helmet with Fixed Bale & CAPAC Westinghouse Liner. The shell is the best part of this rig. The shell is front seam, fixed bale, and original paint. The shell has original paint and cork texture. The helmet does show wear to the dome, some paint loss to the rim, and some scuffing to the front. There are some white paint scuffs, but no dents that i can see or feel. The scuffing/scratching to the front of the shel...l was probably done by a child later on. The bales are in excellent unbent condition. The inside of the shell shows wear, possible blood spatters, and some sanding/scuffing. The heat stamp of 144 C is clearly visible. The liner is marked with the Westinghouse and CAPAC logos with the number 53. The liner does have the front insignia hole, but has been repainted in flat green. The liner does not have any cracks or bends. The liner has OD Green HBT webbing that is in fair shape. There is no sweat band. The helmet had a snap in nape strap and three of the female snaps are missing. The liner and shell do not have chin straps. This is a great shell that will be a great addition to your collection.
