A highly unusual large unframed antique pictureA pale beige ecru linen with a lightly washed/painted quaint thatched cottage and country garden with tall trees in the background. To either side of a path are exquisitely hand embroidered flowers and shrubs with green foliage neatly worked in raised and compact stitches. To one side of the flowers stands a crinoline lady individually attached to the canvas on light cardboard. By lifting her skirts a paved area can be seen. The pale blue ...satin dress has been pleated and overlaid with hand embroidered rows of coloured stitching. The neckline of her dress in a similar fabric. A sash to her waist made from very fine strands of thread.
