52"H Vintage Gothic Style "Drexel" Oak Armoire
Gorgeous, vintage armoire salvaged from Central Connecticut. It was made by, "Drexel" sometime around the middle of the previous century. It is made of oak and is extremely heavy for a dresser (~250lbs). There are 4 drawers, 2 swinging doors, and 2 wooden partitions which divide the space inside of the cabinet. Three of the drawers have brass drop pulls and the 2 doors have brass handles.... The top drawer on the outside is missing 1 drop pull. We don't have a similar pull to add to the other side, however, we do have 4 Gothic style knobs that we could include (see last photo to get an idea of how they would look). Aside from that quirk, the guide arm which limits the swing of the door on the right side is slightly bent. It still does its job as it should, but it looks uneven.The piece is in great shape and only has the typical small nicks, scrapes, light scratches, and spots of worn finish here and there that you would expect to find on old, used furniture.Our carpenter inspected the piece from top to bottom, inside and out and didn't have to make any repairs or reinforce any joints. He said that this piece was built like a rock and was made to last several lifetimes. This is a great opportunity to pick up an heirloom dresser--don't miss out!
