This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword in mountings. The blade is signed "Koa Isshin Mantetsu saku 興亜一心満鐡作", dated "Showa Mizunto Mi Haru 昭和癸未春 (Spring, 1943)", shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period made blade. The blade is in old polish, no rust, no stain and in excellent condition. The temper line is chusuguba with... konie active temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight masame-hada no opening, no blister and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is heavy metal scabbard, shows tiny lacquer loss but no dent, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Tsuba and seppa are matched number 452 stamped. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 27+1/4" tip to the guard, 26+3/8" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 38+1/4" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. Koa Isshin
