Norfolk & Western N&W G-1 2-8-0Consolidation Alco Brass HO Scale (S-132). Alco imported this model from Rok-Am of Korea. The model has a Ajin Gearbox as the original gearbox was not very good. The Norfolk from various builders had 14 ofthese engines that from the roster as 200-206, 352-358. Delivered during 1897, these Whyte classConsolidations featured Stephenson Valve Gearing and burnt coal. Tipping the scales at 237..., 415 pounds, theseengines rested on an octet of 50 inch drivers. The boiler developed 180 PSI of steam that powered the pair of 20 inchbore by 24 inch stroke cylinders. Theresult was the engine was able to develop a tractive effort of 29, 376. Of course as the consists became heavier, these engines made way for the later super steam. One G-1 survives to this day and is ondisplay. The model comes with itsoriginal box without foam.
