This key is a very early Vintage Circa 1860's model from what I have learned from researching. Some articles say it was patented in 1904 who knows? Still in lightly used condition for it's age and the key functions perfectly. I hooked it up to my amateur radio and the key had a surprisingly crisp and solid feel to it while operating with it's solid steel lever (Not Tin). Some of these old keys were made of tin but this one is solid steel and the adjustments are very smooth and&nbs...p;precise. A great collectors item for a museum show piece or use it on your radio to enjoy sending code from a piece of American History when telegraphers of the time used these model keys to send important messages through a wire from far away.
