THEY ARE BECOMING SO HARD FOR ME TO FIND IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION. MOST SELLERS HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO THOROUGHLY CH...ECK THEM. I BENCH TEST ALL MY CAMERAS AND GUARANTEE THEM TO BE ACCURATE OR AS DESCRIBED.This great find is one for a serious collector......it's the first one I have ever seen in all my 35 years of being in the photography business and I use to own three used camera shops. I didn't even know this model existed UNTIL NOW! I spent several hours online researching it and educating myself which I also highly recommend doing if you are interested in owning probably one of the most rare collectable Pentax cameras made.
This is a SUPER HARD TO FIND fully checked, bench tested and working Pentax MX Data Capability Camera Body with the standard film back (NO DATA MX BACK INCLUDED) and a Pentax-A 50mm f2 Lens. I was able to find only one Pentax Data MX Back Only that sold for $100.00 on Ebay. Do not get this confused for the common Pentax MX Dial Data Back. I've had new mirror foam put in and a new foam strip put in down the inside of the cameras back doors hinge so you'll get no light leaks. Again just to clarify this body comes with the standard film door but has the rare capability of supporting the Pentax Data MX Back. It has the additional 2 pin contacts on the edge of the base plate and inside the film chamber to the right of the shutter curtain (as seen in the last photo) is a flip-down paddle called the film blind thumb screw. This is designed to blank out a corner of the image where the clock image has to show up when using the Pentax Data MX Data Back.Cosmetically the camera body is in excellent condition showing light wear. For honest disclosure there is one super faint and super small impression on the right side of the prism head which is barely noticeable and several light scratches/bright marks on the bottom of the base plate and on the bottom of the lens flange. The leatherette finish is mint, tight and complete. The black trim shows no paint wear so overall it's a nice clean looking body. All shutter speeds from B/1-1000th have been tested and are working correctly. The viewfinder is clear and clean with only a few tiny dust specks (common) that do not turn out in photos. The LIGHT METER adjusts accordingly and MOST IMPORTANTLY has been bench tested and is ACCURATE. The film counter and the self timer both work great with no issues. The shutter curtain is clean and straight with no wrinkles. It should be noted that the back door closes but has to be pressed firmly to lock it. The film rewind shaft that you pull up to open the back door also wobbles more than normal but it's secure and still works fine. Included with the camera is the flash sync port covers, two new working batteries, a original Pentax camera strap, and a original used instruction manual.The lens is in mint condition with no paint wear, no dings, no dents and no engravings. The focus is smooth and the apertures are snappy. The glass has no fungus, no haze and no scratches. It comes with a 49mm Skylight Protective Filter and a NEW plain 49mm front lens cap.I 100% guarantee this camera body and lens to be working as described. Please note that there are no refunds due to buyer's mistake, error or remorse.
