Olympus OM Series Zuiko 50mm F2 Macro Lens NM & RARE FROM USA
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:20556513 |
Welcome. This auction is for a Rare Zuiko Lens for the OM Series of Cameras. This is the Rare 50mm F2 Macro Lens. I have seen dozens of 50mm f3.5's, but this is the only one in f2! This caused quite a stir at a recent camera show as no one else had ever seen one of these either. Unfortunately no one came with the wherewithal to purchase it. The lens is part of the manna des...cribed below. It is in NM condition, the barrels clean, the glass is clean, I think even the end caps are clean! Don't think of it as limited to your old OM series camera bodies. Read below and breathe some new life into your digital cameras too. About this item: I managed to dominate the bidding in an auction of Olympus equipment. The lots were odd in that with a few rare exceptions, none of the equipment looked used. It looked as though the original owner had “access to the candy store”, bought the best “candies”, and then stashed them away. I worked professionally with Olympus OM equipment for a few decades and there were lenses that I couldn’t justify buying. This item and many others from that auction will be offered up now and in the weeks to come. (And since I no longer have to justify tem, I am keeping a few).BTW: There must be 15 different manufacturers of adapters that will mount an Olympus OM series lens onto an Olympus digital camera (OK, there are also adapters that will put those fine Zuiko lenses on Digital Nikons, Canons, etc, etc). The lenses were always superb and if you can focus manually, you can add to your digital lens repertoire with OM Series lenses. Keep in mind the format change; a 24mm OM lens transitions into a 48mm on a 4/3’s digital Olympus. Not sure what the conversion rate is for other brands. A Zuiko 50mm f1.4 is then a 100mm f1.4 and suddenly becomes a portrait lens with an excellent aperture! Well worth giving up the autofocus. I never liked it anyway. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out my current auctions for other interesting items. E-mails: I will do my best to answer any question sent to me regarding my auctions.Shipping is figured for the winning bidder ONLY! This include both domestic and foreign. I've had as many as 14 requests for shipping estimates on a single auction! (And not one of them bid!) Payment & Terms:Paypal. Have another payment plan? e-mail me. If it doesn't involve a personal or business check, we can talk.Packaging fees are common sense based. I'm just interested in covering the time & materials used (Usually $2.00-15.00). 99% of my auctions got out at the lower end of that list. The more time & materials used, the higher the fee. You won't find an $8.00 "handling charge" masquerading behind a 99¢ auction here. And if you think about it, you'd really rather spend the money on careful packaging than to have your fragile purchase just shoved into some old box and sent to you unprotected. I've had that happen and so have plenty of others, but none of them were my customers.
Shipping is done via USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Ground. Large/Heavy items (over 10#) are shipped by FedEx ground and require a street address, NOT A P.O. BOX. If you don't have an address, borrow one! Send it to your work address, or your uncle Ephram's house instead. NO UPS!
Buyer is to pay all shipping, packaging (where applicable), and insurance costs (MANDATORY for electronics, cameras, collectables, or high-ticket items.) from zip 60565.
