For your Stereo Projection pleasure consider this, rarely seen...Brackett FADER Stereo ProjectorWhat is This? This is a Stereo Projector (for Realist format, but capable of projecting the widest stereo mounts, RBTs up to 33mm wide), designed by the world renowned stereo personality, Bob Brackett. It was introduced by 3D Concepts at the NSA Convention in Richmond in August of 1998. The initial run was only 25 units. I am not sure how many were produced (100?) but it is ...not available new any more.In the words of Bob himself: The Brackett Fader is a precision built instrument capable of projecting large, brilliant three dimensional images, with a built-in fade transition. The fade is a professional projection technique that provides a gentle transition between slides. It eliminates the eye fatigue created by an abrupt cut-off. A unique feature of the Brackett Fader is that it can be linked to an second Brackett Fader through a special synch cable to create 3-D dissolve slide transitions. The Brackett Fader accepts standard Realist format slides (4" x 1 5/8" or 41x101mm) up to full frame size (23x33mm) mounted in glass or cardboard. The Brackett Fader is manually operated and gives the operator total artistic control over fade rate. The Fader uses interchangeable lenses, combined with halogen bulb illumination, for extremely bright and sharp images. The Fader is compact 9 in x 9in x 12in, and weighs only 12lbs. The simple but efficient design will provide the owner of a Brackett Fader many years of reliable, trouble free projection. I think this is a good summary... The key points are: Simple & efficient design (the opposite of the Realist stereo projectors!) Compact, lightweight (unlike most 1950s stereo projectors) Bright halogen illumination (unlike 1950s stereo projectors) Sharp images, choice of lenses, zoom lenses possible (unlike 1950s stereo projectors) The projector comes with Kodak f 3.5 70-120 mm zoom lenses. Zoomed at 70mm you can sit very close to the screen an enjoy large & bright images. The other end is more suitable for projection in a stereo club where the projector is placed in the back, behind the audience. In my opinion this is the perfect focal length range that covers 99.5% of the stereo projection situations. About the Condition of this Unit:It has been used very little. It comes complete as it was sold, even in the same box. I am throwing in a few cardboard polarizing glasses. You will need to supply a silver screen. I tested the projector and even though there is nothing wrong with it, I was not happy with the focus of the lenses. The way the lenses are focused, is via friction. That's not a very good system because the lenses slip. Again, there is nothing wrong with this projector, it is a design flaw. If you can work out a better lens focusing system, then this is a great projector. I will leave this up to you.As you can see from the attached receipt, the previous owner paid $1, 485 for this unit. I am starting the auction at $250. Anything below $500 is I think a great bargain. Please see my other ebaylistings for similar itemsI buy/sell/service 3Dphotography equipmentI sell on consignment.
