This is a rare 18th century hand embroidered ivory silk waistcoat sadly not in the best of condition. The waistcoat has had two silk inserts put in under the arms, probably due to perspiration staining also there is water staining damage so please see all images to assess. On a more positive note the hand embroidery is very fine exquisite work and the colours are still very fresh and bright especially considering age. There are two small moth holes to the front left hand side of the wa...istcoat and there are six hand sewn small buttons two of which seem to have lost their colouring. The whole waistcoat is hand stitched and the inside lining is I believe cotton with silk borders. Waistcoat is quite small and approx. sizes are 34cms across the shoulders and maximum length from shoulder is 55cms. Please see the other 18th century waistcoatI am listing from the same home.
