This is ONE of one of the largest collections of rare Chinese daggers ever assembled. I'm honored to be allowed the opportunity to offer these to you for sale. All daggers are original, untouched and are as found, no fixing, no polishing, no repairing.
This particular piece, one of several hundred different pieces that will be listed in the upcoming months is a RARE dagger, one of a kind, original. It is a Damascus presentation dagger, presented in 1936, AVG,... with a Damascus blade. Any of you collectors know that you have to be VERY special and shoot down quite a few planes in order to get something like this. Considering this is the only example I've ever seen and the worlds greatest collector (D'Angelo) has also never seen another, I would say that this piece will never be offered again for sale ever. The blade is Damascus, beautiful, razor sharp, original edge, 6 1/2 in length. Blade is tight, no movement. The guard is hand carved bird, expertly done, better quality than any others I've ever seen. Both sides have minor differences with the bird, but both are beautiful. The ferrule is excellent, no movement at all, the wire wrap and turtle shell handle is fantastic, no cracks or damage at all. The brass bird is ABSOLUTELY wonderful, deep red ruby eyes, best I've ever seen. The scabbard is fantastic, has the "flying tiger" on the throat, 1936 engraved on the side, the sun burst drag, , no dents , rust or problems with the scabbard, just a beautiful piece, guaranteed original.
