RARE NVIDIA GeForce 256 DDR 64MB AGP
Item History & Price
This listing is for the incredibly rare NVIDIA GeForce 256 DDR 64MB. Released in early 2000 shortly before the debut of the GeForce2 GTS, this card was not a popular seller as its performance paled in comparison to its successor. As a result of its late release and short life in the retail and OEM space, very few of these cards remain to this day, making it a "grail" card for retro PC enthusiasts. Debuting several months after the launch of the original GeForce 256 (October '99), it is... the last and most advanced version of the very first GeForce, a product which popularized the term "GPU" for referring to a graphics processor. It is perhaps the only consumer model to include 64MB of memory, double that of its more popular 32MB incarnations (excluding of course Quadro SDR variants). This card is also one of the earliest on the PC to support DVI-D, a nice feature to have on such an old card for connecting to modern displays. VGA output is also very crisp even up to 1600x1200.
