Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty. I would estimate this dates to the early 19th century. Woven from copper-coloured silk damask embroidered all over with butterflies, flowers and stylized bats decoratively trimmed with a variety of beautiful hand-woven and brocade tapes. It retains three finely cast square bronze buttons and two gilt-metal toggle buttons at the side. Lined with lovely blue/grey silk damask.
Condition: Age related wear and splits to the silk around the sh...oulders. Numerous repairs, losses of tape. Edge binding replaced. Nevertheless a fine early piece for reference or sympathetic restoration.
