We are excited about a large collection of Brown & Bigelow mailing calendars, prints and Christmas cards and assorted ephemera we recently acquired at an estate auction in Saint Paul. These were archived and stored for decades in several huge folio books that were created to archive published examples of the calendar giant. The calendars span the period from about 1917 through to the WWII years of the mid 1940s. There are many images we have never seen before in several decades of selling vintage pin-up and ephemera, we hope you find these calendars as exciting as we do!
ITEM: This is a scarce vintage and original 1930 "Best Business Practices" incentive Brown & Bigelow pin-up mailing calendar with artwork by an illustrator named Teg Murray. This whimsical and rare surviving sample calendar features an unusual golfing / underwater pin-up girl mermaid scene. A Great Depression be damned collision of pop culture tropes. This shows B&B advertising and "best practices guidelines" with partial text that reads "A Lubber Dubs In Bermuda - And The Poor Fish Don't Even Know What It's All About!"... as well as a printed August 1930 calendar month on the front. Verso has golfing tips by Tommy Armour. Again, this is an image we had never come across before as long time pin-up and paper dealers, and we are smitten!
Measures 5" x 10"on a heavy card-stock paper
