Description: An outstanding Antique English George V solid sterling silver large Arts & Crafts hammered circular shaped fruit bowl with a attractive pieced and flower decorated border, fitted with two side handles which both have patterned detailing and is raised upon four mask head and hoof shaped feet. The fruit bowl is made by one of the best silversmiths of the Arts & Crafts period and you can see why by the beautiful detailing and splendid decoration of this wonderful... object. It's made of an excellent gauge of solid sterling silver and a good heavy weight. There are no engraved presentation inscriptions, initials, monograms, family crest marks or had anything erased. It's of 93 years of age and is from the King George V era. A very delightful object of such wonderful true top quality which would make a splendid addition to anyones collection and will be very proud to display in their collection. A very fine large object.
Maker & Date Hallmark: Maker A E Jones (Registered December 1902). Date hallmark 1926 and assay hallmark Birmingham.
Measurements: Height 8 cm, Diameter across top of body including handles 26.4 cm and width 19.5 cm.
Silver weight: 410 grams.
Condition: Excellent clean condition with no damage. There are no dents, dings, splits, holes, knocks or repairs. Just some light surface marks from use but nothing major. The body is circular in shape with no pushed in border. The bowl stands perfectly well with no wobble or repairs to feet. The border has no damage or missing pieces. The interior is in excellent clean condition with no marks from use. The hallmarks stamped to the body are all very crisp and readable with no wear issues. Overall a splendid A E Jones Arts & Crafts object which is ready to be added to your collection.
