Antique Chinese Tibetan Mongolian Gilt Buddha, Qing Dynasty, 18th Century, RARE
Item History & Price
OBJECT// Antique Chinese, Tibetan or Mongolian gilt statue of a seated buddha on a Lotus shrine, he has a stunning serene expression and a fabulous sense of movement throughout the piece, the depth of detail and decoration is breathtaking, every section and surface has an almost painful dedication to quality and refinement, his robes and jewels are beyond the extraordinary, the jewels are inlayed with Turquoise and Coral natural stones, huge attention to detail has been taken depicting the refinement of the hands/fingers Feet/Toes, the whole surface has beautiful gold mercury gilt surface, lovely original base plate to the base, stylistically I would think this is a Mongolian piece as some of the features are quite unique, the piece is from my personal collection which I purchased many moons ago from a another well respected London art dealer, I hope it goes to a good home, very important spiritual object, good weight 708 grams, very much scholars taste, dating from the 18th century, genuine antique object, superb colour and patina, serious collectors object. Small collection of very good quality items this week. (Please note Ebay is awash with fakes, we aim to only sell genuine antique objects on our page, we are long term sellers and are aiming to build a strong platform for dealers and collectors to bid with confidence)
