This clock is a very high quality antique ebonised and ormolu bronze triple fusee musical 8 bell and 5 gong bracket clock of superb proportions and of the highest quality in excellent condition for age with a beautiful colour and patina
The case features a fantastic break arch design with its original finish that looks absolutely amazing on display with various bronze mounts. Superb reeded pillars either side with ormolu finials to the top and ormolu bronze carry handles to the sides and original brass fretwork sounding panel with red silk behind them
The case is in excellent condition with a glazed hinged front door with working lock and key and a hinged back door with brass fret and red silk again with original lock which opens and locks with the same key
The ebonised case has a stunning colour and patina to it which is acquired through age. This is exactly how i have received it and it looks 100% more impressive in the flesh
The clock features a 11 inch x 8 inch brass & silvered dial with engraved roman numerals on the silvered chapter ring and original fine steel hands. There are thick pierced embossed bronze spandrels to the corners of the dial and 2 subsidary dials to the arch. One for chime / silent, the other one for a choice of musical tunes on 4 gongs or 8 bells. The dial is in excellent clean condition
The clock has an exceptionally rare English triple fusee chain driven musical movement striking on a total of 8 bells and 5 gongs. The quarter chiming musical chimes every quarter of an hour on 4 gongs or 8 bells playing the whittington or Westminster chime and the hourly strike on a separate gong on the hour after the musical chimes have finished playing. No matter how well antique clocks have been serviced they will need final adjusting and setting into beat after transport and a professional person is advised and may be required in order to do this so please bear this in mind before bidding
If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair
