*** Antique Chinese Embroid Red Silk Robe-Many Bats & Forbidden Stitch Peonies *** This auction features a large 19th century Chinese embroidered red silk robe with outstanding forbidden stitch embroideries of bats, symbols, and peonies. Two unique design features are 1) the four forbidden stitch symbols on the front chest and back top of the robe, 2)the 6 forbidden stitch peonies in the waves on the front and the back of the robe. The robe is fully lined in a blue silk. The robe... measurements are as follows: length- 48"; underarm to underarm- 28"; collar to sleeve end- 31.5"; width of sleeve- 19.5". Condition: There is wear and fade to the front panel, and a few small spots on the back and sleeves of the robe show wear; please consult pictures. All of the embroideries are in very good condition.
