For additional pictures Click on "Read More" This Rare Ronson creation is in excellent condition and is a truly attractive and eye-catching pieceThis impressive lighter was created by the Ronson Company (Art Metal Works) It was a tribute to Mr. Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President. He was assassinated on April 14, 1865 by John Wilkes Booth. (the first American President to be assassinated in office). It is figure 115 in Urban Cummings informative book: “Ronson The World’s Greatest ...Lighter”. This model dates back to 1934 and has the Rare Gold Highlighted Copper finish. (More often found in a Bronze Finish, I have a couple of pieces in my collection.). It is believed that this rare Ronson piece was inspired by the famous Gutzon Borglum’s 1908 sculpture of Lincoln’s bust. More information is available on them in Urban’s book. This lighter is another example that Ronson was a very prolific lighter maker, with an art department second to none.It is a large lighter, weighing almost two pounds and standing over 4 inches tall. It has no dents or dings, showing that it has never been mishandled or dropped.This great pieces with its seldom seen Gold Highlighted Copper finish is in good used condition. The Brass Inverted Cone wand with the lightly darkened finial is a great color match for the Gold Tones of this great piece. It is complete and is in perfect working order with a new striker strip installed for your convenience.
