Beautiful E.D Bebe, French circa 1900 (E.D, Etienne Denamur of Paris from 1889). This gorgeous doll has a lovely pale fine high quality bisque head with fixed blue large almond shaped glass paperweight eyes, finely painted upper and lower lashes and feathered brows, open mouth with shading and accents and four molded upper teeth, pierced ears, blonde wavy wig and cork pate, on a fully jointed heavy chunky French wood and composition body, 22" ( 56cm ) tall. Back of the head is incised... E 9 D Depose.She comes wearing a gorgeous contemporary pale peach stiffened organza check pinafore with lace and frill detail, cream light weight wool dress with leg of mutton sleeves with lace trim and pin tuck and lace detail around dress hemline, dress is fully lined in cream cotton with pin tuck and lace detail around the hemline. Her bonnet is made from the same fabrics as her pinafore and dress and is nicely constructed and wired to keep the shape.Her antique underwear consists of a white cotton stiffened lawn petticoat with fine pin tuck and very fine hand crochet trim, white cotton drawstring pantaloons with embroidery anglese and lace edging, lovely light brown cotton / rayon hand knitted fine pointelle socks and later chocolate brown kid leather shoes with Rosette detail, Finishing off her look she has light amber coloured earrings and has a delightful bottle brooch with floral enamel design.CONDITION : Very good, head is perfect, body is very good minor paint lose at knee joints and neck, nicely strung for posing, left hand index tip if finger has been rebuilt.I love this doll she has such a characterful face a real beauty and ready to display.
