Antique Oak Hoosier cabinet for sale, excellent condition, no missing parts, work surface in excellent, well cared for condition with wear consistent with its age. Made in the early 20th century by McDougall, Frankfort, IN, when Hoosier-style kitchen cabinets became popular. The hardware is original. Castors (4) are original also. This is a great item! In total, it stands 73" high, including the 4-1/4” quarter-sawn gallery across the top with a 3/4” quarter-sawn brace for displaying/storing plates; 42” wide and 26" deep. This piece is in great condition; the woodgrain of the oak is exceptional. Cabinet features (see photographs):· Original flour bin in upper left corner; with tilt-out, pull down door· Below the flour bin is a cabinet door which opens to the original tin flour sifter and other storage. The inside of this door has a rack to hold small jars, cans, or bottles.· Two center drawers, one small – perfect for a stack of cocktail napkins or a couple of trivets, for example – and a larger drawer that opens downward at an angle.· The cabinet door to the right opens to an open storage area large enough for cookbooks or mixing bowls.· Under the metal countertop is a slide-out dough board measuring 20-3/4” x 17” x 3/4” with a fingerhold so it’s easily removed when needed for rolling out pastry.· On the lower left is a cabinet that opens to a 2-shelf compartment with a rack on the door for jars or bottles or canned goods. The shelf has a porcelain pull for sliding the shelf out toward you making it easy to reach items on the shelf, which is completely removable.· On the lower right are 3 drawers; the top drawer is divided into three compartments for silverware, other utensils, or what-have-you; the bottom drawer is extra deep (I have stored Tupperware containers in it)
