Up for auction is an VERY FINE Chinese Export solid silver TEAPOT, made in China c.1900.The teapot has 6 PANELS OF SCENES. Each panel is very heavily CHASED and ENRAVED. The decoration is highlighted against a matted ORANGE PEEL effect background. The panels include DRAGONS, BIRDS, SUNFLOWERS, LILY PODS, BAMBOO and PLUM BLOSSOM. The hinged lid/cover has 6 similar panels of scenes. The finial has applied Chinese calligraphy.The interior of the lid/cover is DOUBLE SKINNED (2 layers of si...lver, seen more commonly on Japanese silver).The teapot is unsigned and I would date this to c.1900.This is a fine quality chinese export silver teapot, weighing a solid 707 GRAMS (22.73 TROY OUNCES).The teapot stands approximately 18.5cm high x 22.5cm end of handle to tip of spout.CONDITION : EXCELLENT SUPER CRISP CONDITION WITH NO REPAIRS, NO DAMAGE.
