DESCRIPTION Here is a fine rare 19thC antique Chinese silk kesi (k'ossu) Qing Dynasty tapestry textile 7th rank civil badge . Finely detailed silk e...mbroidered panel featuring a colorful mandarin duck perching on a rock and looking up to the sun, with auspicious Buddhist symbols: 2 bats, flowers, and clouds in ruyi shape surround. Wonderful gold metal thread embroidery throughout and backed in silk as well. Condition is quite excellent for its age.
A rare and exceptional find! Comes from an estate and has been stored well and well protected. Colors are very vibrant! Very minor fray around small part of the edge, and some wear mainly to the corner off the backing, condition shows well in the images. See images 12 5/8" by 11 7/8"
