WWII era Samuria Sword, Gendiato with a Star stamp.
An impressive marine landing forces mounted katana. The blade is signed NOSHU JU KANEHIDE dated Showa 20 (1945). It has a small Seki forge stamp along with a Star stamp, indicating a Jumei Tosho swordsmith. NOSHU JU KANEHIDE is listed as a Jumei Tosho swordsmith on www.japaneseswordindex.com. His work is also illustrated in earlier softcover F&G books. This is a hand forged blade with a straight hamon and is in very good condition....
