Offered is an exquisite antique early to mid 19th century French bust of the 18th century playwright Moliere, made circa 1820-60.Cast in solid bronze and covered in sterling silver, this fine and weighty bust features a beautifully modeled face, with detailed hair (wig) and clothing. It rests on a tapered round base connected to a square stone foot.
Condition: bust has no dents or splits. A tiny bit of silver loss, and patina commensurate with age. Stone foot has scuffing ...and a few tiny chips on edges. See our pics as part of the description.
