ANTIQUE NIAGARA FALLS IROQUOIS NATIVE AMERICAN BEADED WHIMSEY NEEDLE PURSE
Item History & Price
From the late 19th to early 20th century. NO BEAD LOSS. Great example of the early tourist items sold by the Native Americans at the falls. In making these, the local women would cut and sew these items and the men would bring back sawdust from working at the local lumber mills for stuffing. Because the sawdust was acidic and course, many of these whimsies are found in rough condition. Not this one.
One ...note, in the photos you’ll see a small piece of clear tape on the inside. Someone long ago applied it (probably to keep it closed while storing it). There isn’t any damage below the tape and it should come off with no problems but I’ll leave that up to the buyer to remove.
