Circa 90s or 2000 Hopi mesa pottery with normal (minor) wear on surface. See photos for condition.
This white-ware jar(olla?) by Grace Navasie has a very graceful shape, with fairly thin walls using the white slipped clay technique that her mother, Joy Navasie (the 2nd "Frog Woman"), was known for.
The girth is decorated with a pleasing band of traditional geometric feather designs in rich dark and medium... browns derived from vegetal and mineral sources found near the Hopi mesas.
Artist: Signed with the FROG symbol as shown in photo.
NEW INFO regarding FROG symbol:
I understand that Grace's frogs typically have a G nestled into curve of the leg (see newly added last image with comparison photos and receipt).I can't explain why this pot does not have the G, but the pot was sold as her work and you can see her name listed on the original receipt.Additionally, Joy's frogs have rear legs outstretched loosely behind the body, whereas Grace's frogs are folded in a jumping position. Also, Grace frogs forelegs appear to emerge from squared off shoulders and curve sharply inward, and the interior of the body has a rounded blank space devoid of squiggly pattern lines.
Anyway, I am sure this pot was Grace's work.
