Here is a nice old stake anvil or stump anvil used in blacksmithing and other types of metalwork. The main body is heavily pitted from years of exposure to the elements but has been wire wheeled and coated in boiled linseed oil to further protect it. The top working surface had major pitting as well but I was able to use a flap disk to grind away most of the pitting. I didn’t get all of them though because of their depth.
