For sale is a fun oyster plate made by the Union Porcelain Works around 1881. It is nicely shaped and molded with seaweed and shells in relief as well as a gold trim. If you look closely you see a crab as well as a crab claw as part of the molded detail :) These are highly collectible and really quite nice. American porcelain after all is much less common than its European counter parts. The plate has four wells for oysters as well as one shell for the sauce. The plate is in perfe...ct condition with just a little wear. It is about 1.125 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide and 6.375 inches deep. It is marked as shown on the underside with the U.P.W. over the eagle's head in black as well as PAT. JAN. 4-1881. under it. UPW United States of America 19thC 19th century Porzellan Austernteller
