Here is a lot of vintage items from the launching of the U.S. Navy Submarine Francis Scott Key SSBN 657 on April 23, 1966. Includes launch program, launch folder with Welcome Aboard documents and cruise itinerary, fifteen-star 3' by 5' Defiance U.S. Flag by Annin used at the launching ceremony in original box. Along with the ceremonial flag is a typed letter from the office of General Dynamics Electric Boat Division President to U.S. Navy Commander Martin presenting the enclosed flag, ...and a brochure describing how to display the flag. Items are in good condition, please see photos and condition description for details.From the body of the enclosed letter: "Enclosed herewith you will find one of the special, fifteen star flags used on the occasion of the launching of the USS Francis Scott Key (SSBN 657) on April 23, 1966 from its building ways on the North Yard of the Electric Boat division of General Dynamics in Groton, Connecticut." "There is a very limited number of these flags available, and they are being distributed to the principal participants and guests who attended this memorable event."
