Around 1978, the previous owner bought it at an estate sale in the "Fort smith AR. According to the family he bought it from, it was made for "great-great-grandfather". It was used during the Texas Revolution and later during the Civil War. The local smith in the community made it for him. It's was with him until he passed. And has been with the family until purchased then. OAL - just under 30"

The handle is cracked and was coming apart. I've glued it best I can without messing with the integrity of the knife. This is truly a piece of America history at it's best.
