Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely incredible example of this rare species from the type locale - Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of an unusually large and thick leiteite crystal that hosts some inclusions of reddish orange ludlockite as well as some elongated, wire-like crystals of native copper and is set on a darkly colored sulfide matrix!!! The leiteite crystal exhibits characteristic cleavage with brilliant, pearlescent luster but also shows marked translucence throughout and, due to the included ludlockite (and possibly the native copper as well), the crystal exhibits an attractive peachy-pink translucence!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope on can see a few unusually large single crystals of ludlockite included within, as well as some curious unidentified pale mint-greenish material surrounding some of the areas of native copper!!! This is an extraordinary example of this rare species - WAY better than the pics show!!! Ex. Marshall Sussman!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
