Description/Interesting Notes: An extraordinary example of spessartine garnet from this famed California locale!!! This specimen consists of an unusually well formed, complexly modified crystal of intense orange spessartine garnet!!! The crystal exhibits brilliant, glassy luster and marked translucenc...e with stunning orange color!!! The bottom of the crystal is almost completely flat, yet shows a network of lustrous, finely striated features!!! The flattened bottom is no doubt where the spessartine garnet was once perched on a quartz or feldspar crystal!!! This specimen is a complete floater and is pristine and undamaged all around!!! Absolutely gorgeous in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
