German Prussian Kürassier Garde Du Corps Officer Sword WW1 Era

This is a good example of a German Prussian Garde du Corps Cuirassier/ Kürassier Officer's Sword that dates from the World War 1 Era. It is mounted with a straight, fullered blade that measures 35 3/8 inches in length which remains in good condition with only some minor flaking to the plating near the guard. The blade is beautifully etched on either side with lovely blue panels that is Regimentally marked inside one panel which reads "Garde Kürassier Regt." Both blue panels have now ...faded with some surface oxidation now present. The multi-branched brass guard remains nice and tight framing a fishskin wrapped hilt has survived in very healthy condition and with its original twisted wire wrap still securely in place. The plated metal scabbard is in uncleaned condition with most of the plating gone but does remain in good serviceable condition with no dings. Overall measuring 42 1/2 inches in length.
