MONTBLANC No. 2Flat TopBlack & GFM trimFountain PenMade in Germany HistoryMade in Germany in the mid-1930s. The pen presented in today’s auction is a standard model, with ebonite cap top, and barrel end. Trade mark Mont M-Blanc imprint to the cap and outline of the iconic snowflake logo to the cap top.Double cap band and fluted clip complete the look. Item condition:Decent/use...r grade vintage condition: nice, glossy surface with good imprints. Gold filled trim with normal wear throughout the years of regular use. Filling system (piston) was probably repaired/replaced at some point in the 40s or 50s. Overall, still a nice and well-kept classic pen. It has an M No. 2 Montblanc flex nib which is in good condition and the filling system has been restored with new cork seal and the pen's ready to fill and write. Imprints on the cap:MONT [logo] BLANC 244 M The filling system:To fill the pen, unscrew the black barrel end, immerse the nib in the ink bottle, turn the filler knob counter-clockwise to extend it until it stops, then turn clockwise to fill; wipe the pen point with a soft tissue and screw the barrel end back down and all done! The pen’s filled and ready to write. The filling system has been restored with a new cork seal and the pen’s ready to write.Nib:No. 2 steel (probably originally gold plated) wartime No.2 Montblanc nib – Fine to Medium line, with a good amount of flex, producing a fine to semibold line and writing with lovely ink shading and nice line variation.
