This Victorian era antique Brussels Rose Point de Gaze needlepoint lace shawl collar dress trim dates from the late 19th century. It is made of an off white cream color sheer fine net with delicate filmy needlepoint lace Point de Gaze, Rose Point flowers with layered petals, Swiss dot pa...ttern designs and Point de Venise firm, durable needle lace scrolling flowers outlined in a heavy cordonnet. This lovely lace large shawl collar has a wide flat round Bertha collar style with scalloped edging and is sheer, unlined with no closures. The collar measures 18 inches long inside the neck, 35 inches long on the outside and is 5 inches wide. It is in good as-is condition needing some restoration repairs, with several small frayed holes in the net (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and exquisite piece of antique lace wearable art!
